Recent Paintings From the Sky

A few new small, square paintings from the skies over Mexico. We went on a family trip this past summer and I ended up with many odd, little sketches, a few of which lead to these three images. They play and hedge towards narrative amid their patterns and shapes.

  2. glad you like them...they are sky bound, a bit moody, and actually feel more pink and violet in person, than blue, although blue is present :)

  3. i take lots of pictures when i fly. i like that your representation of those moments could be totally accurate and still be hard to read. or simply read 2D because you're so far away. or you can work a little more loose and it seems like an intentional abstraction. things get flattened out into puzzle pieces.

  4. I don't fly enough, but love the 'puzzle-like' quality you mention, Becky, and the thing with being so high is it makes the world seem both tiny and huge at the exact same moment - a bit of a miracle :) Reminds you of where we fit in.
