A Second Post In the Same Night, I'm on a Roll!

Only because I was a bit of a slug moving into the new year with no new posts until tonight and having been reminded of my slugdom status, I've set out to prove otherwise. Here are a few relatively quick head studies, 2 in oil pastel and the other, the first stage acrylic block-in of a friend and model.

  1. i think you took the blue from my wrap for the background there, lady. I keep covering one half of the face to contrast the light on the cheeks. i enjoy that. when i look at it together, i dont percieve it as a high contrast image. but separating them, i see how different the two cheeks are. and somehow, that tropical vacation blue doesnt compete!
