These images are relatively quick, modified alla primas, made on 18in. x 18in. stretched canvases and painted with acrylic paint. They come from a series of photographs and sketches I've taken and worked on site, which I then transfer to painting surfaces in my studio. I block them in as large shapes of light and dark, focusing on warm and cool rhythms, patterns, and overall energies.
